Passage Content
Regarding whoever speaks lashon hara, God says:
I and He cannot dwell together in the world.
Read it not as [OSO] = "him" I cannot bear.
Rather read the verse as [ITO] = "with him".
I cannot bear to dwell with him.
(33.) In regard to all other sins, the sinner is
remorseful afterwards. And God can dwell with him.
But the sin of haughtiness is so constant.
So God is permanently unable to dwell with him.
I and He cannot dwell together in the world.

He who slanders his neighbour
in secret, him will I cut down. One with haughty eyes and an expansive heart, him I cannot bear. |
