(.1) Do things effect the power of our memory.
| Man | Mice nibbled at my bread,
Am I allowed to eat from the bread? |
| Sage | Why would you not eat? |
| Man | Because I will forget my learning.
For I am extra careful to avoid eating anything that causes me to forget. But now I am hungry. |
| Sage | I see that you don't study
Torah even though you definitely could. Instead you spend the whole day devoid of Torah and spend it visiting with fools listening to their empty comments. First worry about learning, then worry about forgetfulness. |
