Ben Sira also despises:
A person who establishes the seats of students
(the places where they go about their studies)
in the heights of the city.
Rashi explains that to study in such a location
gives the appearance of arrogance.
In addition, a city's heaights were generally
not conducive to study, for this was usually
an area of busy thoroughfares, and
the constant traffic would likely
distract and interrupt the students.
