his actions? or it is purely decreed by heaven?
Each statement is related to a different mate.
The 1st Match is decreed in heaven.
A 2nd match is according to one’s actions.
(note 40) At the time of conception an ideal mate
is designated for each male (1st Match)
When he reaches marriagable age, Heaven judges him.
If he is deserving, he will be given his ideal mate.
If not, she will be given to someone more deserving.
And she will be the other man's (2nd match)
